The biggest challenge for the oil and gas industry regarding digital technology adoption is the ability to change quickly enough. 63 percent of respondents to a 2020 survey agreed this was a major challenge, while 57 percent of the oil & gas executives believe that integrating technologies from different eras is the second major challenge. The oil and gas industry's greatest digital skill knowledge was for digital engineering and cybersecurity.
