As of June 2023, 76 percent of the battery manufacturing projects operational worldwide were located in China. Around 15 percent were located in the European Union countries and the United States. China is forecast to remain the global leader in terms of battery manufacturing, as the country accounted for the largest share of announced battery systems as of that month of 2023.
